Go Chuckster

Hi, I'm Charlie. I'm a swimmer/cyclist/runner and when I'm not I work for the internets. I also do a little photography on the sly.

Repo! The Genetic Opera.  I just had the chance to see this film.  Alex and I interviewed the co-creator and music producer at San Diego Comic Con last year.  Alex’s brother Jonathan Zalben worked on the movie as a composer.

The director also did some of the Saw films (Twisted Pictures/Lionsgate financed the film), so the mis-en-scene was very similar.  Although they only spent about 10 mil to make the film I did see a lot of the high concept set design that they were aiming for (Blade Runner-esque/post apocalyptic).

The commentary track on the DVD was also very cool.  The director Darren Lynn Bousman is very honest about the struggles they had adapting the stage play for the big screen and getting the film made.  And all the wicked fights he got in with loser producers!  I hope the film does well enough to earn the sequel or prequel they really want to do next.
