Andrew to Run Half-Marathon in December

everythingsports:

My good friend Brian has battled Ulcerative Colitis for the last 7 years, and has decided he will be running the Rock and Roll Las Vegas half marathon (13.1 miles) on December 6th in an effort to raise funds to help battle this crippeling ailment. Since I feel partly to blame for his condition, I will be running the marathon with him for moral support, also we have a $50 bet on who will finish first, but mostly for moral support.

I think the most distance I’ve ever covered on foot in a day is definitely under 10 miles, so I unofficially started training last Sunday. Today is Monday, August 17th which means I have exactly 110 days to get back into shape and win myself $50. So, in an effort to keep myself doing this, I’ll be posting daily running distances and times, and maybe even what I listen to while I run. My goal is to start running 2 consecutive miles everyday this week, which I also did last week, and add AT LEAST 1/2 mile every week. If I can continue this, I’ll only be running 10 - 10 1/2 consecutive miles, but come on, that’s a lot. I’m not trying to finish the race in first place, just trying to finish ahead of my sick friend (I’m aloud to say that because we’ve been friends for 15 years and I’m sure he would say the same thing about me). Anyone wanting to donate money to this cause (the Ulcerative Colitis cause, not the Andrew Running cause) can email me at everythingsports@hotmail.com.

Wish me luck, and say goodbye to the beer belly you all know and love so well!
