Um… I gotta say it here… Robert Rodriguez is one of my inspirations. He does EVERYTHING I want to do. He finds heart and emotion in hacky and trite ideas… The exact opposite of what major studios are doing these days - which is finding inspired ideas and raping them of any heart or emotion.
MACHETE - starring 65 year old Danny Trejo is a tale that will resonate, I’m sure - and it’s a testament to friendship and honesty… Rodriguez penned an idea for this in 1993, talking to Trejo about it - and motherfucker ACTUALLY FOLLOWED THROUGH. That’s so not LA.
